Mako Loans is a direct private money mortgage lender specializing in short-term bridge loans and asset-based financing for real estate investors. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Albany, New York, we’ve spent nearly two decades building one of the most trusted private lending operations in the Northeast — growing from our roots in Eastern New York and Western Massachusetts to an expanding footprint across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
We fund fix-and-flip loans, bridge loans, DSCR rental loans, rehab loans, new construction, and commercial bridge transactions — exclusively for non-owner-occupied investment properties, secured by a first position lien. How Our Private Money Loans Work

As a direct private money mortgage lender, we evaluate deals based on the asset — not the borrower’s tax returns or W-2s. We look at the property’s current As-Is value, its After-Repair value, and the strength of your exit strategy. That asset-based approach is what lets us move faster, approve more deals, and serve a broader range of investors than traditional lenders ever could.
All loans are secured by a first position lien on the investment property. We fund cash closings on investment properties exclusively — no owner-occupied residential lending, no exceptions.
